Report: Manny Machado Will be Traded to Dodgers
According to a report on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Dodgers will acquire Baltimore Orioles shortstop Manny Machado. The trade involves a group of players that includes Yusniel Diaz, a top outfield prospect.
Manny Machado prepared to play in the All-Star Game on Tuesday night. It might have been his last appearance wearing a Baltimore uniform. While he was doing that, team officials were preparing paperwork that included medical records involved in the deal, reportedly.
Diaz, who is 21 and hit two home runs during the Futures game on Sunday, is batting .314 with six homers and 30 RBIs across 59 games for Tulsa the Double-A affiliate of the Dodgers and is ranked as one of LA’s top prospects.
The Milwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies were amongst other teams that made strong pushes to acquire the services of Machado. At the All-Star break, Machado was batting .315 with 24 homers and 65 RBIs.

Machado, who is 26, spoke with reporters briefly inside the clubhouse of the American League prior to the All-Start Game in which his team won 8-6. He said he did not have any new updates on his playing status from his agent or the Orioles.
Machado told reporters he had not heard anything. He added that he was only thinking about the game, as there is a time and place for everything.
At one point during the game, Machado took a selfie with Matt Kemp the Dodgers All-Star after taking out the phone when Kemp doubled and was on second.

After being removed from the game on Tuesday during the sixth inning, Machado said that tried not to think too much about the trade rumors wanting to enjoy the moment and play with his fellow teammates from the American League while enjoying all the guys he has played with during his career professional baseball career.
Machado, knowing he likely would not wear his Baltimore Orioles uniform ever again, said that his emotions were through the roof. He called it a tremendous honor to have worn the uniform, as the organization had given him an opportunity to play in the major leagues. He called that ever player’s dream and the Orioles gave that to him.
