Rob Gronkowski on Tom Brady: ‘He’s Not Done’

Tight end Rob Gronkowski says he always knew his longtime teammate and friend Tom Brady would come out of retirement.

Brady rocked the NFL world by actually announcing his retirement only to reverse his decision in a matter of weeks.

“I knew he was going to come back, but I didn’t think he was going to come back this year, to tell you the truth,” Rob Gronkowski said. “I thought he was going to come back in a year, spend some time with his family.

“He’s not done, man, let me tell you,” Gronkowski said. “The guy’s 44 and, let me tell you, he doesn’t look a day over 23 when he’s throwing the football around.”

Gronk is no stranger to un-retiring himself, having returned to the NFL to play with Brady in Tampa Bay after sitting out the 2019 season.

In his second season for the Bucs, the 32-year-old had 55 catches for 802 yards and 6 touchdowns.

The four-time All-Pro said when Tampa were eliminated from the playoffs by Los Angeles that he likely would not return for the 2022 season.

Brady’s return certainly makes a Gronk return more probable, although he is as yet undecided.

“Right now, I’m not ready to get back out on that field,” Gronkowski told TMZ Sports. “I’m not ready to commit to the game of football right now.

“Even in your 30s, I mean, you just can’t just slack it and just be 50% all-in, then you’re going to get caught off with the game and it’s going to just spit you right out,” Gronkowski said. “You’ve got to be fully dedicated. I’m not ready to do that yet, I’m not going to sign a contract if I’m not fully ready.”
