Warriors Center Damian Jones out for the Season
The Golden State Warriors are in something of an injury crisis in the center of the court with Damian Jones out.
Damian Jones will be out for the rest of the season, according to ESPN. He is set to undergo surgery on a torn left pectoral muscle. He sustained the injury during Saturday night’s defeat to the Detroit Pistons.
The Warriors announced the injury to Damian Jones on Sunday. This week, he will see a specialist in Chicago before having the surgery.

He may well return to the court in the offseason. Although that will only become clear after he has had the surgery.
On Sunday, Warriors coach Steve Kerr did not confirm the surgery. However, he admitted that Jones will be “out for a long timeâ€.
“It is going to be a matter of months,” Kerr said.
“So it is a tough blow for him. He’s been playing so much and progressing and learning so much and we have been excited about his growth. It’s a big setback for him and for us.
“We are going to bring Marcus Derrickson up for the rest of the trip. And we will check on our options.”

There was some good news from Kerr, concerning All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins. He said Cousins was making strides and will participate fully in team practices this week.
“DeMarcus is making some strides,” Kerr said. “He’s looked a lot better to me the last couple of days. The intensity of his workouts — we didn’t do any scrimmage or anything today — but he took part in every aspect of our practice.
“I do know he will fully take part in every practice that we have this week.”
