Will Angels’ Struggles Continue Against Detroit?

The Los Angeles Angels have hit a slump. However, they kick off a series against the Detroit Tigers today who are not in good shape themselves.

The Angels are -116 moneyline favorites against the Tigers.

The Angels are riding a four-game losing streak as they head into Detroit today to start a nine-game road trip. The Angels do have a bit of a confidence booster in they have beaten the Tigers the last seven times they have played.

The pitching battle will be an interesting one as Jered Weaver takes the mound for LA. Taking the ball for Detroit is Alfredo Simon. Neither team has won a game since the last time these two pitchers pitched for their respective team.

Weaver just recently returned from an injury that saw him on the shelf for six weeks. Since his return he has gone 1-1 with a 2.08 ERA in three starts. Weaver has an overall 4.34 ERA and is 5-9 this season.

Simon will take the mound for Detroit. The veteran is 5-2 with a 3.63 ERA at home on the season. On the road he is 6-5 with a 5.77 ERA so he likes the comfort of home.

This series kicks off at around 7 p.m. ET.
