Deflategate Fallout: Patriots Docked 2 Picks, Fined $1 Million, Tom Brady Suspended 4 Games
Though it seems details are still coming out, word out of the NFL league office is that commissioner Roger Goodell has come down on the Patriots for ‘Deflategate’ in the wake of the Wells Report, and come down hard.
According to reports, quarterback Tom Brady is expected to be suspended the first four games of the 2015 season, which means he won’t play his first game until mid-October, as New England has a very early bye this year.
The Patriots are also going to be docked a 1st round pick in 2016 and a 4th round pick in 2017. The team is also expected to be fined a cool $1 million for the scandal. All around a substantially harsher punishment than was handed down for ‘Spygate’ in 2007.
Expect anger and potential appeals all around.
