Saints Favorites Over Texans
The Houston Texans may be America’s favorites football team at the moment as they are the subject of this season’s Hard Knocks, but they are penciled in as the -3.5-point underdogs against the New Orleans Saints Sunday afternoon.
Bryan Hoyer, the Texans starter, will likely play into the third quarter in this game. The Texans have struggled to find stability at the quarterback position for the past few seasons. Thus far, in two preseason appearances, Hoyer has combined for 9 for 15 with 119 yards and a touchdown.
The Saints are 0-2 straight up and against the spread in their two preseason games. New Orleans, though, looked promising against New England when they were up 21-0 at the end of the half only to have the backups come in and give the game back to the Pats.
Brees, a pass first quarterback, will be feeling the pressure this game looking across the line at JJ Watt and the rest of Houston’s stellar pass defense.
The total for this game is set at 44 points. The UNDER is 2-0 this season for Houston. The Texans are also 6-1 on the UNDER over their last seven preseason games. However, the Saints have hit the OVER in both their games this preseason.
