Jerry Jones Thinks Redheads are Simmering Pits of Rage, Except for Jason Garrett
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is known for speaking his mind, always throwing caution to the wind and never holding back, no matter how routinely he embarrasses himself, and by extension his franchise, with his cartoonishly stupid words.
This season has seen no shortage of Jones soundbites, from comparing Johnny Manziel to Ben Roethlisberger, to saying Brandon Weeden throws the most beautiful ball you’ve ever seen, to literally everything he’s ever said about Greg Hardy. It’s been an adventure.
A firm believer in more is more, this week Jones upped the proverbial ante with his comments about coach Jason Garrett, and redheads in general, during an interview on 105.3 The Fan’s Shan and RJ show in Dallas. When asked how Garrett keeps his cool during games, Jones had this to say (via DallasNews.com):
Well, Jason is a smart guy. He knows that if it’s a sideline, he knows that those cameras are zeroed in on him. He’s not about to fall where he is conscious, and he’s conscious of everything out there, make no mistake about it.Â
And you see very few redheads that aren’t about to blow up inside when somebody is not doing right. And, so, it’s all there. It’s all there in a big way. And he will bite. You know the old adage, I don’t know if he’s going to get it done or not. Well, I’ve seen him bite as a puppy, and if they’ll do that, they’ll bite as a dog. He’ll bite.Â
He’s just smart enough in front of a press conference or smart enough on that sideline to be a little civil about it.
Only Jerry Jones could turn what was supposed to be a compliment into an insulting swipe at two percent of the global population. And did he seriously call Garrett a biting puppy? Literally none of that made any sense whatsoever.
Classic Jerry.
