NFL News: Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater Suffers Potentially Severe Knee Injury
The Minnesota Vikings appear to have suffered a major blow to their team’s offense on Tuesday. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater went down with what seems to be a severe knee injury in practice, according to Andrew Krammer of Star Tribune:
The Vikings’ lofty hopes took a serious hit Tuesday when starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater appeared to suffer a major leg injury.
Bridgewater’s knee injury ended Vikings practice with the team needing to bring on an ambulance for the quarterback. The injury sent shockwaves throughout practice with everything coming to a halt. Ultimately, practice was cut short due with players showing their emotions, according to Brian Murphy of the St. Paul Pioneer Press:
You could hear a pin drop on field as Bridgewater was tended do on ground — silence only broken by several F-bombs players screamed#Vikings

The injury was so severe that Bridgewater had to be taken off the field in an ambulance. Obviously, not a good sign for the Vikings who have high hopes of competing for the NFC North division title and making a deep run in the NFL playoffs this season.
Although Bridgewater is no Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers, the 23-year-old is a promising young quarterback in this league and was expected to take the next step in his development this season. The combination of Bridgewater and veteran running back Adrian Peterson is one of the better one-two punches in the league, but without the quarterback under center, the Vikings competing for the playoffs hangs in the balance.
At this point, the Vikings will have to lean on backups Shaun Hill and Joel Stave.
