Sweet 16 Line Movement
There has been some sort of line movement in seven of the eight Sweet 16 games on tap later this week. The lone exception was the Florida vs. Wisconsin game, which has held steady.
In Thursday’s games, Kansas has been a popular choice, moving from -4 to -5 in some spots. More than three-fourths of the bets are coming in on the Jayhawks. The total moved from 156 to 156.5.
Michigan is now -1.5 or -2 over Oregon, depending on the sportsbook. The Wolverines have received two-thirds of the bets and the total jumped a point to 147.
Gonzaga is still -3 over West Virginia and the total climbed from 146.5 to 148.5. Three-fourths of the totals wagers have been on the over.
Xavier at Arizona is another popular over bet, with the number moving from 143.5 to 145. The spread has remained at Arizona -7.5 at most places, while several books are at Arizona -7 (-115).
Florida is still -1.5 over Wisconsin and the total is still 131.5. The wagers have been close to equal on both the side and the total.
Baylor has moved from -3 to -3.5 in some spots, while the total has moved from 135 to 137. South Carolina is getting the majority of the wagers in the game.
UCLA has been the biggest public bet of the Sweet 16 round, with more than 80 percent of the wagers coming in on the Bruins. UCLA opened as a 1-point underdog and are now favored by 1. The total has dropped from 169.5 to 168 despite the fact that more wagers have been coming in on the over.
Butler has been a somewhat popular choice with bettors, getting 60 percent of the bets, but the Tar Heels have moved from -7 to -7.5 in most spots. The total has reluctantly climbed to 153 from 152.5, even with 80 percent of the bets on the over. The total hasn’t moved as much as the other games that have such lopsided betting percentages.
