Cardinals re-sign Chris Johnson to one-year deal
Chris Johnson’s NFL career has renewed life, as the running back once known as CJ2k has reportedly been re-signed by the Arizona Cardinals.
Cardinals are re-signing RB Chris Johnson, per source. Back for another season in Arizona, more backfield depth.

It’s hard to imagine Johnson getting a ton of action this season with Arizona. Last year, he carried the ball just 25 times for 95 yards and one touchdown. The year before that, he got plenty of work as Andre Ellington struggled to stay healthy, totaling 814 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
That was before David Johnson morphed into an NFL superstar, however.
Now Chris Johnson will be fighting for reps in training camp behind David Johnson, Ellington, rookie TJ Logan and others. It wouldn’t be all that shocking if he’s not even on the final roster when the Cardinals cut down to 53 at the end of the summer.
Still, it never hurts to have bodies in camp, and attrition can change things in a heartbeat.
