NBA rumors: Dwyane Wade ‘nearing’ deal with the Cavaliers
After securing a buyout with the Chicago Bulls, veteran guard Dwyane Wade will become an unrestricted free agent once he clears waivers on Wednesday. Although Wade has reportedly received considerable interest from the Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder, it appears he be reuniting with LeBron James in Cleveland.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Wade is nearing a deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The three-time NBA champion’s buyout with the Bulls was a foregone conclusion once Chicago decided to trade star forward Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves and part ways with Rajon Rondo. The Bulls are starting the rebuilding process and Wade still feels he has some basketball left in him in the twilight of his NBA career.
The Cavaliers will look like a much different team this season with Kyrie Irving being traded to the Boston Celtics, Isaiah Thomas in Cleveland and Derrick Rose signing with the team. It will be an older team led by LeBron, but still considered a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference, if not the favorite to advance to the NBA Finals once again.
The Washington Wizards, Milwaukee Bucks, and Celtics may pose the biggest threats to the Cavaliers this season. The Wizards will bring back the dynamic duo of John Wall and Bradley Beal while the Bucks look to take the next step with Giannis Antetokounmpo leading the way on the floor and Jason Kidd calling the shots on the sidelines.
Boston, however, may be the biggest threat to dethrone the Cavaliers in the East. The Celtics brought in Irving to join free-agent acquisition Gordon Hayward and veteran forward Al Horford.
