Colts to Induct Reggie Wayne into Ring of Honor

The Indianapolis Colts will induct former receiver Reggie Wayne into the team’s Ring of Honor. The induction will be officially made on November 18 when the Colts play against the Tennessee Titans.

Reggie Wayne played for the Indianapolis Colts for 14 seasons. In that time, he recorded a franchise record 211 appearances for the team. He played a key role in the Indianapolis Colts’ 2006 Super Bowl Championship winning team.

Reggie Wayne made six Pro Bowl appearances and was a first-team All-Pro in 2010.

He finished his career with 1,070 receptions, 14,345 yards and 82 touchdown catches. He is second in franchise history in each of those categories.

Wayne is also 10th in league history in receptions and yards receiving. He is a player who is seen as bridging the gap between quarterbacks. He played for Peyton Manning and then, Andrew Luck. Wayne also had 100 catches in four separate seasons.

Having played since 2001, he suffered a torn ACL injury in 2013. He failed to come back to his former intensity, and suffered an arm injury which effectively ended his career.

Wayne will be the 15h inductee into the Colts Ring of Honor.  He joins a group that includes Bill Polian, who drafted him in 2001, coach Tony Dungy and four of Wayne’s ex-teammates – Edgerrin James, Peyton Manning, Jeff Saturday and Harrison.
