Kareem Hunt is exceeding expectations with the Browns
Earlier this offseason, it saw the Cleveland Browns give running back Kareem Hunt to reignite his NFL career after his time with the Kansas City Chiefs was cut short after a video surfaced of him assaulting a woman.
Although he’s currently slated to miss the first eight games due to a suspension, he has been able to participate with the team. With that in mind, head coach Freddie Kitchens has spoken quite highly of how Hunt has been with the team so far in the offseason workouts, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.
“He is doing great,†Kitchens said. “He is doing everything we are asking him to do. Exceeding expectations from the standpoint of how he is in the building, how he is around the players and how he is on the field. I have never been around him until now, but that’s what I see and that’s what we have gotten. He is doing things in the community. He is continuing to work on an everyday basis, and he is not taking any days off from the standpoint of becoming a better person, a better player, and I think everybody is going to see the benefits of that.â€
This may be Hunt’s last chance to play in the NFL, which gives him more of an incentive to be more accountable for his actions moving forward. This was an inexcusable incident that he took part in that has put him in this tough spot where the next mistake will put him out of the league.
At the same time, Hunt has a chance to prove he can be a key piece to the puzzle offensively for the Browns beyond just this season. He has already shown he can be a feature running back in an offense.
It’s all on his shoulders to prove that he can keep his personal life in order to continue playing in the NFL.
