Carson Wentz: New OC Should Make Us More Explosive
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz says he’s excited to work with the team’s new offensive coordinator, Rich Scangarello.
Scangarello replaces Mike Groh, who was fired after the Eagles crashed out of the postseason.
“I’m excited to get his insight and what he can bring to this offense and how we can become more explosive and more dynamic,” Carson Wentz said of Scangarello.Â
“I can tell in the brief conversations I’ve had with him that he’s a smart guy and that he knows what he’s talking about.”

If Philly played in a better division, their lacklustre offense would likely have failed to push them to the postseason.Â
In 2019, the Eagles ranked 16th in passing yards, 11th in rushing yards and 12th in total touchdowns scored. When Carson Wentz got injured, it was the final nail in the coffin of their underwhelming attack.
Considering that the Super Bowl was contested by two great offenses, coach Doug Pederson knows that his attack must improve. Rich Scangarello played a vital role in shaping Kyle Shanahan’s 49ers offensive schemes.
Pederson is optimistic that with their new OC and other changes, Philadelphia will be a different proposition next season.

“I think what we’ve done as a staff in the offseason with our scheme evaluation, making things better, the staff hires that I’ve done to bring in new thoughts and new ideas and ways to enhance our offense, I think (the offense) is going to look a little bit different,” Pederson said.
The Dallas Cowboys won’t wait around for them to find their form, though. The Eagles will need to hit the ground running with their new ideas if they are going to defend their divisional title.
