Aaron Gordon explains why he requested Magic trade him

Orlando Magic star forward Aaron Gordon is ready to move on. The 25-year-old has had enough of losing. He wants to be traded by the struggling NBA franchise before the trade deadline on Thursday.

Gordon recently admitted that he requested the team trade him before the deadline and explained his reasoning for the trade request, Nick Friedell of ESPN.

“There’s been times where I just expressed my frustration to management,” Gordon told reporters. “Frustration with the losses, the injuries, the way we’ve been playing and how many losses have accumulated over the years. So it’s just my frustration kind of boiling over I would say. … I think a lot of people share that sentiment with me, of frustration.”

Gordon is one of many notable players that could be dealt before the NBA trade deadline on Thursday. He could be packaged with Magic teammate Evan Fournier, who has also been rumored to be on the move.

The Boston Celtics might be the most likely destination for Gordon. Boston has struggled this season and is in desperate need of a spark to salvage their season, with Gordon potentially being that spark.

Although Gordon never turned into the star the Magic were hoping he would be after selecting him fourth overall in the 2014 NBA Draft out of the University of Arizona, but he is still a force to be reckoned with.

In 24 games for the Magic this season, Gordon has averaged 14.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game while shooting 44.2 percent from the floor and 39.3 from beyond the arc.
