Kevin Durant: I Don’t See Myself As A Saviour
Kevin Durant couldn’t save the Nets from a third straight defeat on his return from injury on Thursday night.
Despite scoring 31 points, Kevin Durant found himself on the losing side against the Miami Heat, 113 – 107.
In his first game since Jan.15 due to a sprained MCL, Kevin Durant also grabbed four assists and four rebounds in 35 minutes.
“I felt great,” Durant said after the game. “I felt great. I’m only going to get better, more comfortable out there. Take more of a load out there, too — when I get more games under my belt — so I felt solid.”

With James Harden gone, and Kyrie Irving still unavailable for home games, Brooklyn looked to Durant. However, the former All-Star says the team needs to build chemistry rather than look at him to win games on his own.
“It could take one game, it could take 20 games,” Durant said. “It’s a matter of just getting out there and seeing what works for us, but it’s not like a certain formula or criteria that goes into [the process]. That’s how you know when you build chemistry, it’s just kind of an organic thing that happens naturally.”

“I don’t look at myself as that, as a savior,” he said. “But I know what I can do and how much I can help this team and what we’re missing as a group, but I’m not trying to go out there and win a game by myself tonight or make it all about me. I just try to go out there and help and be a good teammate and do what I do. I know what I bring to the table and try to do it to the best of my abilities.”
