Titans RB Derrick Henry joins elite company after 219-yard performance
Over the last few years, Tennessee Titans star running back Derrick Henry has remained one of the league’s top talents.
Henry showcased that again in the Week 8 win over the Houston Texans after rushing for 219 yards with two touchdowns. The stellar performance tied him with O.J. Simpson and Adrian Peterson with six games with at least 200 rushing yards.
“I give all the credit to them,” Henry said via ESPN. “They were the ones that made it happen. Without them, I wouldn’t have half the success that I’ve had.”
The impressive outing marked Henry’s fourth straight game with at least 200 rushing yards against the Texans, setting the all-time mark with the most such outings against a single team. Henry’s dominance doesn’t stop there, as he has 75 career rushing touchdowns, which set the all-time mark in franchise history.

The All-Pro running back is off to another strong start, as he’s second in the league with 755 rushing yards and third with seven rushing touchdowns. He’s on pace to rush for 1,834 yards with 17 rushing touchdowns, which would mark the third time in his career that he has surpassed 1,500 rushing yards in a single season.
The Titans have bounced back after losing their first two games, winning the last five straight contests that have put them atop of the AFC South at a 5-2 record. Henry remains the focal point of the offense, and his production will play a huge part in dictating Tennessee’s fate ahead in the 2022 campaign.
