Trevor Lawrence claims he refused a cart from Jaguars to get off the field
The Jacksonville Jaguars took a significant blow after star quarterback Trevor Lawrence suffered a high ankle sprain in the Monday night loss to the Cincinnati Bengals
The Jaguard dodged a huge bullet as the injury could have been far worse. However, one of the storylines after the loss to the Bengals centered on Lawrence not taking the cart from the field to the locker room to get examined.

All that sprouted the narrative that the Jaguars didn’t have the equipment to get their franchise quarterback back to the locker room safely.
Lawrence quickly dispelled that notion by stating it was his idea not to use the cart.
“We talked about getting a cart and I was going to get a cart, and then I’m standing there and I’m already on the sideline at that point, the tunnel’s right there, I just wanted to get off the field, get out of there,” Lawrence said via ESPN. “I didn’t know what was going on with my ankle, and I felt like I could get off [the field]. I was like, ‘Hey, you’re good. Just don’t bring it out. I’m going in.’
“And then once I got in there [the hallway], I’m like, ‘This is a pretty long walk.’ They asked again if I wanted a cart. I’m like, ‘No, we’re going to make it the whole way there.'”

The optics of the situation certainly weren’t great. However, it lessened the blow that Lawrence wasn’t dealing with something far worse than an ankle sprain.
The Jaguars don’t have an estimated timetable for a return. Although Lawrence should be back to push the franchise toward a playoff berth.
