Timberwolves secure Chris Finch’s future with contract extension
After reaching the Western Conference finals for the first time in two decades, the Minnesota Timberwolves have secured head coach Chris Finch’s future with a four-year contract extension.
Finch’s new deal will keep him through the 2027-29 campaign, cementing him as the guiding hand for the foreseeable future in Minnesota. Under his helm, the team has reached the playoffs in three straight seasons, which is the first time that has occurred in 20 years.

The Timberwolves took another significant step forward this past season by reaching the Western Conference finals. Minnesota finished with the third-best record in the Western Conference behind a 56-26 mark.
In his first four seasons, he has accumulated a 160-127 regular-season record. The Timberwolves have become a powerhouse in the Western Conference behind their young and veteran mixed team, which has put forth a strong core group.
Anthony Edwards is the guiding force while Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert have provided stability in the frontcourt. Meanwhile, Mike Conley has been a stabilizing veteran piece in the backcourt. As well as that, Naz Reid has emerged as one of the best scorers off the bench.

The next order of business will likely be Gobert’s long-term future as he heads into his final year.
