Nuggets officially hire David Adelman as head coach
It didn’t take long for the Denver Nuggets to find their next head coach, as the franchise tabbed David Adelman to the position.
Adelman took over the reins as the interim head coach after the team parted ways with Michael Malone days before the end of the regular season.
He led the team to three straight wins to end the season and a second-round playoff exit. The Nuggets are moving forward with Adelman at the helm, but Josh Kroenke, the team’s president and governor, stated that the organization needs more time to find its next general manager.
It has only been several weeks since Kroenke chose to move in another direction by parting ways with Malone after 10 years and general manager Calvin Booth.

Kroenke outlined a shocking decision that he believed he needed to make to give the franchise a fresh start.
“I think that there was perhaps some confusion and some doubt over the decision-making, especially the timing of it, which I completely understand,” Kroenke said via ESPN. “But I am very proud of the way the group came together under some very difficult circumstances, and I am proud to say I thought we squeezed a little bit more out of the season than the direction we were heading six weeks ago.”
Aside from finding a new general manager, the Nuggets’ top priority this upcoming offseason will be putting together a more balanced roster around star center Nikola Jokic to push them back into NBA title contention.
