Patriots unveil Tom Brady statue

The New England Patriots have been heading into a new era ever since the departure of legendary quarterback Tom Brady, who won an incredible six Super Bowl titles with the franchise.

The Patriots have been trying to find that winning spark ever since Brady was under center. They will now start fresh with Mike Vrabel as the leader on the sideline, with Bill Belichick now trying his luck on the college level with the University of North Carolina.

As the Patriots head into the post-Belichick era, the storied NFL franchise is paying homage to Brady by giving him the statue treatment, which was unveiled this week with the future Hall of Famer in attendance, via the Patriots’ X account.

Brady made the following statement during his statue unveiling ahead of the team’s preseason opener, via NFL.com.

“When I was drafted, I just hoped to make the team. I never dreamed I’ll be standing here two and a half decades later, made of bronze and frozen in time,” Brady said Friday night at a ceremony to unveil the statue before the Patriots’ exhibition opener against the Washington Commanders. “But actually, it actually feels pretty appropriate given my 40-yard dash time.”

As Brady adjusts to life after football, at least from a player perspective, the seven-time Super Bowl champion has become a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. He has already helped the struggling franchise head in the right direction with the addition of head coach Pete Carroll and veteran quarterback Geno Smith.
