Ravens’ Derrick Henry urges people to keep calling DeAndre Hopkins ‘washed’
The Baltimore Ravens may have lost their season-opener to the Buffalo Bills in an epic shootout for the ages. Still, they bounced back with a vengeance in Week 2, putting up 40 or more points in their second consecutive game against the lowly Cleveland Browns.
Outside of wide receiver Zay Flowers, who had a team-leading seven receptions, no one on the Ravens had more than two catches, including veteran wideout DeAndre Hopkins.
Even though he only had two catches, Hopkins racked up 64 receiving yards and a touchdown, as he scored late in the fourth quarter.

There’s no question that Hopkins’ playing career is winding down, but he can still make plays, with superstar running back Derrick Henry wanting critics of his teammate to keep saying he can’t get the job done, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN.
“Hopefully, they keep calling him ‘washed’ because that s— has been working,” Henry said with a smile after Friday’s practice. “We need it.”
With Hopkins showing he can still play at a high level when given the opportunities on the field, Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken vows to give him more snaps during the 2025 NFL season.
“We’re just going to continue to get him up to speed,” Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken said. “With every day, I think his packages are going to continue to grow as we keep going and moving forward. And we have to have that be the case because he’s a tremendous football player. The more we can get him on the field, the better we’re going to be at moving forward.”
With the Ravens having a high-powered offense led by superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson, the team is likely to continue putting up big numbers from week to week. Hopkins may have opportunities to have a throwback season in Baltimore, potentially giving him a chance to win a Super Bowl when it is all said and done.
