UCLA Win Will Earn Bruins a Spot in Pac-12 Championship vs. Oregon
Pac-12 football action heads to Southern California on Friday when the No. 10 ranked UCLA Bruins host the Stanford Cardinal.
UCLA on the season is 9-2 overall and 3-2 at home. Stanford is 6-5 overall and 2-3 on the road.
The line currently has UCLA favored at home by 5.5 points with the point total sitting on 50.
The Bruins control their own destiny in qualifying for the Pac-12 championship as the South division representative.
If the Bruins can win on Friday, they will meet Oregon for the Pac-12 championship.
UCLA has won 5 straight games entering this matchup with Stanford. The Bruins offense has struggled of late against Stanford and must get off to a fast start if they hope to down the Cardinal.
Stanford will not have Ty Montgomery its standout wide receiver and kick returner. Montgomery has 61 receptions to lead the team but he hurt his shoulder in the Cardinal win last week over California.
Stanford has not been a factor this season in the race for the South division title and a spot on the conference championship. The Cardinal will finish with its fewest wins in a season since 2008.
The Cardinal is 4-4 in Pac-12 play. Without Montgomery, the Stanford will look to Remound Wright a running back. Last week Wright scored four touchdowns to tie a record at Stanford.
Kevin Hogan at quarterback has 15 touchdowns through the air but 8 interceptions.
Defensively Stanford is No. 6 nationally in total defense and No. 7 in the nation in points allowed. Leading the defense is Blake Martinez an inside linebacker who has as team high 92 tackles.
UCLA’s talented quarterback Brett Hundley has 20 touchdown passes and 5 interceptions. He announced he would not return next season to play his senior year at UCLA, opting to enter the NFL Draft.
He said he already earned his degree and had done everything at the football program so he will move to the next level.
Paul Perkins the top rusher for UCLA has 1,265 yards on the ground.
On defense, Eric Kendricks at inside linebacker has 128 tackles, while Myles Jack at outside linebacker has 70 tackles.
Stanford is 6-0 SU against UCLA in their past six head-to-head games. Last season Stanford won 24-10.
With 9 more tackles, Kendricks can break the UCLA tackling record held not by Jerry Robinson.
Devon Cajuste a wide receiver for Stanford caught 7 passes against UCLA last season.
Stanford is 5-1 ATS over its past 6 games against UCLA.
The UNDER has cashed in 5 of the past 6 games between the two teams played at UCLA.
The favorite has covered the number in 5 of the past 6 game between the two.
Pick: I like UCLA to win 28-14.
