Wiggins And The World To Take On Team U.S.
Tonight, All-Star weekend officially begins. This year’s Rising Star Challenge has a new international theme. The USA will take on the World in a game that highlights the talented rookies of the NBA.
Andrew Wiggins will lead the World Team that also notable includes the Chicago Bulls’ Nikola Mirotic against a U.S. roster that features Robert Covington and Shabazz Muhammad. Michael Carter-Williams, last year’s Rooke of the Year, is another notable name on the US squad, though he will not play due to injury.
Team U.S. are the favorites to win this one with a –4 point spread. The total is set at 281 points.
Wiggins has won two straight Western Conference rookie of the month awards leading into the All-Star break and looks to carry that momentum with him to help upset the U.S. team.
The new format pits 10 first and second year players from around the world against 10 first and second year players from the United States. 10 top 15 picks from the 2013 draft will be featured in this year’s game.
