This Week In Fail: Xmas Edition
I assume you have at this point become accustomed to the This Week in Fail format in which I discuss teams that failed throughout the week. In honor of Christmas this week we are going to do something a little different and I am going to give some sports teams some potential Christmas gifts.
Washington Redskins
Potential Xmas Gift:Â A Trip to the Playoffs
The Washington Redskins were the only team in the NFC East to win their game in Week 16, and as I predicted the winner of the Dallas Cowboys versus Redskins game in Week 17 will determine who is the NFC East Champion. I’m willing to bet that the Redskins are going to win this game. I draw this conclusion based on the point spread for this game.
The ultimate Xmas gift that I think Santa will bring the Redskins is a trip to the playoffs. The Redskins are just a win or some other teams loss away from getting a spot in the playoffs. RGIII is back and even when he isn’t the Redskins till fared well. This is a team that has won six straight and are showing no signs of slowing down for the rest of the season and into the playoffs.
Los Angeles Lakers
Potential Xmas Gift:Â A Win Against the Knicks
On Christmas day the LA Lakers will take on the New York Knicks in what will either be the moment that signifies the Lakers comeback or will simply be another loss recorded in the Lakers books. I think the latter is what is likely to happen.
Santa is going to give the Lakers the win, but they are going to have to work for it. Nash’s return gave the Lakers a much needed win and boost going into this game and I expect that Nash along with the other big players on this team are going to get into shape and go on to have a sucessful season and playoff run. Their success will start on Christmas with a win against the Lakers.
