Boise State Visits New Mexico
The Boise State Broncos visit New Mexico in the last college basketball game on the schedule Tuesday night. The Lobos are favored by 1 and the total is 147.5.
The Broncos are having a solid season, going 16-7 straight-up and 12-9 against the spread this year. Boise State is a bit better than average away from home with a 7-5 record and 8-4 spread mark. Boise scores roughly the same number of points away as they do at home. The Broncos aren’t just as good defensively on the road, allowing 3.2 more points per game.
The Lobos are 15-10 straight-up and 9-13 ATS on the year. As usual, The Pit has been rough on opponents, with New Mexico 9-3 straight up at home this season. Oddsmakers have forced bettors to lay a few more points than they should, which is why New Mexico is just 2-7 ATS.
The Lobos played one of their best road games of the season in January when they went to Boise and came away with an 81-70 road victory. New Mexico shot 50% from the field and 50% from 3-point range and also made an impressive 21 of 22 foul shots. Boise happened to have an off-night shooting against the Lobos. The Broncos were just 38% from the field and a rather dismal 21.7% in 3-pointers, hitting just 6 of 21.
Boise has typically been good when avenging a home loss, going 6-1 against the spread over the past three seasons.
One big difference from the January game compared to tonight’s game is Tim Williams. The New Mexico senior had 19 points in the first game, but will miss his fourth straight game tonight. The Lobos were able to overcome his loss against the likes of UNLV and Air Force, though both games were struggles. Tonight could very well be a different story.
Have to take the Broncos in a revenge spot against a short-handed New Mexico team.
