2013 NFL Draft Props

2013draft120430cp1

As with any NFL draft, the 2013 version has created plenty of predictions, intense speculation and numerous questions. Tomorrow, we’ll learn the answer to most of those questions as we mow through the first two rounds of the draft, but to make your draft day even more memorable, Bovada.lv has just released some fun prop bets for the league’s big day. We picked out a few of are favorites and provide our picks below. So, spice up your draft day this year and make some fun wagers before NFL teams select their next franchise player!

Who Will be the 2nd Pick Overall? – Eric Fisher 11/10, Dion Jordan 5/4, Geno Smith 10/1, Luke Joeckel 10/1. Ezekiel Ansah 4/1

The Jacksonville Jaguars have the second overall pick and they have significant needs at almost every position, but they will most likely want to select a defensive game changer or an offensive lineman to build their team around.

Luke Joeckel is expected to be selected by the Chiefs at No. 1, so that leaves Eric Fisher and Dion Jordan as the most likely candidates to land at No. 2. Many mock drafts have the Jaguars selecting Jordan – and he certainly wouldn’t be a bad bet here – but the mock draft I compiled yesterday leans towards Fisher. After seeing Joeckel go at No. 1, I think the Jags are going to want to snatch up one of the premier lineman in the draft and the next best would be Fisher. However since their odds are so close, a bet for either Fisher or Jordan would be a good choice here.

Who Will be the 4th Pick Overall? - Star Lotulelei +160, Lane Johnson +150, Chance Warmack +1000, Dion Jordan +200

This one is more interesting because it could go a few different ways. The Eagles have the fourth overall pick and will likely be looking for a defensive player, but they could use a good lineman as well. Many mock drafts have Philly selecting defensive tackle Star Lotulelei, but if Dion Jordan falls to No. 4 – which I think he will – then there’s no question the Eagles would be interested, considering Chip Kelly coached Jordan at Oregon just last year.

Lotulelei and Jordan are probably the best bets, but it wouldn’t hurt to throw a small wager on Warmack as well. After all, he’s the top rated guard in the draft and although he’s not expected to go until late in the first round, Philly seems like a team that could surprise us. The value alone, with a +1000 payout – makes it worth it to take a small risk on Warmack.

Matt Barkley’s Draft Position – Over 37.5 Even, Under 37.5 -140

Although I’d love to take the over here, I can’t imagine Barkley falling that deep into the second round. Sure, his draft stock took a hit after last season and he hasn’t been the best performer in combine workouts, but he’s still one of the best QBs available and we should expect him to go either late in the first round or early in the second, so take the Under here.

Marcus Lattimore’s Draft Position – Over/Under 84.5 -140

Lattimore’s draft stock plummeted after his season-ending injury last year, but we continue to see guys recover from these types of injuries faster and stronger as medicine and treatment improves. Someone will take a chance on Lattimore earlier than most expect. Take the Under here as well.

Manti Te’o’s Draft Position – Over 25.5 +110, Under 25.5 -150

For Te’o, it all depends on who likes him. There are some teams that will stay away with a ten-foot pole and others that will jump at the chance to draft a Heisman finalist. Considering most teams will get their hands on good defensive players early, Te’o could fall late into the second round, so I would go with the more profitable wager and take the Over on this one.
