Aaron Rodgers: We’ll Find Our Rhythm

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers says that his team are perfectly happy to ‘win ugly’ as the season concludes.

Why wouldn’t he be? Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are top of the NFC North on 10 – 3 under first year coach Matt LaFleur.

However, over the last five games, the Green Bay offense has been misfiring. Over those 5 games (3-2), the Packers have a negative -13 point differential.

They’ve had to rely on their defense to get the wins, as Sunday’s 20-15 win over the Washington Redskins demonstrates.

While they scored 14 points in the first quarter, they were outscored 15 – 6 by the Redskins for the rest of the game. Green Bay only had 18 first downs, and it was the fourth time in 5 games that they didn’t have at least 20. For the third time in four games, Aaron Rodgers threw for under 200 passing yards. The 20 points they scored in the game was the fewest they have scored since their Week 1 win over the Chicago Bears.

Despite all this, Rodgers says that the most important thing for the team is getting those wins.

“We’ve got to clean some of that stuff up, but I wouldn’t mind winning ugly all the way to the Super Bowl,” Rodgers said.

“Winning is the only thing that matters,” Rodgers said, per the team’s website.

“Even in the midst of some of these games that aren’t great flow the entire time, we are winning. We expect to win games when the defense holds them to less than 20 points.

“We’ll find our rhythm. I’m not worried about that on offense. We’ll keep getting the ball to our playmakers and figure out what’s going to work that week.”
