AL East Betting Preview: May 31, 2013

The Boston Red Sox lead the AL East by two games over their hated rivals the New York Yankees, but all that could change as the Sox head to New York for a pivotal three-game series beginning today. The Red Sox are one of the biggest surprises in baseball this year, with the team leading the majors in runs scored while coming in seventh in batting average and second in on-base percentage. They’re 2-1 against the Yanks so far this season, though New York has vengeance on its mind.

“Through the first 50-plus games, both teams have answered some questions and have met challenges head-on with personnel and changes to the roster,” Red Sox manager John Farrell said”I would expect fully that it’ll be not only a focal point around the game, but one that our guys are certainly looking forward to.”

Here are the betting trends for that game along with the rest of the AL East divisional matches today. All statistics are courtesy of OddsShark.com.
