Andy Reid ‘Does It Better Than Anybody I’ve Met In My Life’
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid says he was asked about retirement ‘50 times’ before Super Bowl LVII kicked off.
Bathed in the triumphant light of a 38-35 win against Philadelphia, Andy Reid pledged to return for an 11th season.
“I think I’m gonna hang around. I look in the mirror and I’m old,” Reid said.
“My heart, though, is young. I still enjoy doing what I’m doing. I got asked that 50 times here. Finally I just go, ‘Whatever, man. Whatever.’ … I’m good with what I’m doing right now. … Listen, if they’ll have me, I’ll stick around.”

Considering his incredible record, it’s safe to say Kansas City will have him. The 64-year-old is now the fourth oldest head coach to win a Super Bowl. His latest victory makes him the 14th head coach to win multiple Super Bowls.
Reid is the only coach in NFL history to win 10-plus postseason games with multiple teams. His 22-16 postseason record is second only to Bill Belichick’s 31 playoff wins.Â
As well as that, he is only the fourth head coach to win over 200 regular season games and two Super Bowls.Â
Tight end Travis Kelce says Reid is the best coach he’s ever had.

“He can relate to you and bring the best out of you,” Kelce said.Â
“I wish I could explain it, but that’s what makes him the greatest. To be able to have 53 grown men and find a way to challenge them without disrespecting anybody and find a way to challenge them together. He does it better than anybody I’ve ever met in my life.
“I owe a lot to him and I respect his leadership and I try to be as much of a leader as he is to everybody else.”
