Baylor vs Oklahoma State Preview and Prediction

This Saturday the NCAA football schedule is highlighted by the “Showdown in Stillwater,” when the Baylor Bears visit the Oklahoma State Cowboys in a battle of Big 12 heavyweights.

Baylor this season is 9-0 SU and 8-1 ATS. The No. 3 ranked Bears are 2-0 on the road with 6 of their 9 games cashing to the OVER his season.

Oklahoma State is 9-1 SU and 7-2 ATS. The No. 11 ranked Cowboys are 5-0 at home, while the UNDER has cashed in 6 of the 10 Oklahoma State games.

Art Briles the Baylor Head Coach knows how important Saturday’s game is against the preseason favorite for the conference title that is on a six game winning streak and undefeated on its home field this season.

Baylor’s offense is setting a pace that will set new records in major college football with total offense of 685 yards per game and a scoring average of 61 points per game.

Baylor is 6-0 in the conference and is riding a school record 13-game winning streak. Their No. 3 ranking in the AP ties a school record and they are currently No. 4 in the latest BCS standings.

Baylor is in position to win the Big 12 title but have two potential games over the next three weeks that could derail that hope, with the first being Saturday in Stillwater.

The Bears have not been outright league titleholders since 1980 when the school was in the Southwest Conference. The Bears also shared that same conference title in 1994, only because at the time Texas A&M was not eligible for a conference title.

Oklahoma State is 6-1 in the conference after a solid win over Texas 38-13 on the road. The Cowboys were embarrassed on September 28 when they lost to West Virginia on the road and have won six straight since with a chance to win their second title in the Big 12 in the past three years.

Quarterback Clint Chelf has guided the team to their 9-1 record with the help of running back Desmond Roland.

Baylor was scared early in their game last week by Texas Tech, but gradually pulled away and won easily 63-34. Baylor at one time was down 14-0 and again at 20-7 during the first quarter, but was back leading for good by the end of that same quarter.

Baylor was without its two top running backs Lache Seastrunk and Glasco Martin against Texas Tech. Nevertheless, freshman tailback Shock Linwood had 182 rushing yards against Oklahoma two weeks ago and 187 last week against Texas Tech.

Martin expects to be fit to play on Saturday, while Seastrunk just started running again and will be a game time decision.

Regardless of who is at running back, with Bryce Petty calling the signals for the Bears at quarterback, the team should dominate the defense of the Cowboys.

Pick: Baylor 42-28
