Boise State vs. Fresno State Recap: A Wild Game
The Mountain West division does not usually get a whole lot of national attention, but the combination of Boise State pulling off some incredible plays with Fresno State now being talked about as a potential BCS buster the game is getting a lot of attention.
Boise State pulls a lot of trick plays, so much so that it is almost expected that when they are on the field we will see some unique football. Yesterday was no different when Boise State was able to convert a fake punt for a first down from their own 19-yard line. Â Then, they also managed to get a two-point conversion on another outrageous trick play.
It is clear that Boise State coach Chris Petersen is a true master of the trick play.
Despite the unique plays, Boise State would still lose the game to Fresno State 41-40. Â So while everyone may be talking about the Broncos trick plays, Fresno State keeps their chances alive of being a BCS buster. Â The Bulldogs are now 3-0 on the season and their schedule gets considerable easier from here on.
The Mountain West division is going to be Fresno State’s to lose and they are expected to break into the top 25 after this week of college football. Â This will make them the highest ranked non-BSC team in all the NCAA.
Despite losing two games, Boise State is still thinking they have a shot as a BCS buster.  Stranger things have happened. Last season a No. 26 ranked  Northern Illinois upset Kent State with a similar win-loss record.
In short, it is fun to predict who will be BCS busters but the truth is it is only September and we still have a lot of football left to play.
