Brown, who scored the winning 3-pointer, was 3-for-10 on the night and 0-4 on three pointers before taking the shot.
“I missed every shot prior to it,†he said. “I was like, ‘I’m not missing this. No way I’m missing this one.’ So I was open. Everything that happened before it didn’t matter. I just had to make a shot.
“I had supreme confidence. I’m always confident when I let it go. I just wanted that one extra bad, so when it went in I was relieved.â€
Celtics coach Brad Stevens was pleased with Boston’s team play on the winning basket. Via the Boston Herald, he said:
“It was obviously a big shot for him, and then a tremendous play by Al. The drive-and-kick at that moment, I think a lot of guys shoot that floater or kind of a layup where you have to extend over somebody, (which) is not a great percentage shot, especially with guys flying in. But to have the wherewithal to kick it to the corner was the right basketball play. After that, it is what it is. It’s a good shot.â€
