Cavs Looking To Turn It Around Against Wizards
During the Cleveland Cavilers recent four-game losing streak, LeBron James has taking much of the heat for the losses. James is a sort of de facto leader of the Cavs and when his performance is underwhelming, he takes responsibility.
James turned that around, though, with his best performance of the season against the Charlotte Hornets a few days ago. However, the team is coming off a big loss to the Golden State Warriors last night, where the Cavs had no answer for Stephen Curry’s flurry of three pointers.
James will need to show up, as will the rest of the Cavs core players in order to get back on track against the hot Washington Wizards.
A loss will likely do little to slow down the surging Wizards. The Wizards are No. 2 in the Eastern Conference, No. in the their division and 7-3 on their last ten games.
The Wizards also come into this game with a boatload of confidence. A mere six days ago, they defeated the convincingly defeated the Cavs by holding their offense to their worst outing of the season. Â James missed nearly half his shots and Kevin Love was held to only eight points. Kyrie Irving was the only bright spot for the Cavs with 22 points, but it was not enough to get the victory.
It may have not been just a lack of showing up for Cleveland. The red hot Wizards have only allowed an average of 96.7 points per game.
Despite the Wizards recent win, the Cavs are seven-point favorites in this game. The Cavs had previously beaten the Wizards four straight times away from home and covered the spread before their loss last week. The Cavs will now have home court advantage and James’ fans have a hard time betting against the King, hence the Cavs being held as favorites.
The game starts at 7 p.m. ET and you can watch it with NBA LivePlay.
