Chael Sonnen is Calling Out…

Chael Sonnen, the charismatic UFC fighter, is more known for his trash talk than actually winning fights as of late.  He is known for getting high profile fights that many argue he may not have earned by simply talking so much trash about his opponent that fans cannot wait to see them fight in the cage.

Now Sonnen is calling out a two-time NBA Champion.

On the Jim Rome Show, Sonnen was briefly asked about the Miami Heat where he had this to say:

I think LeBron’s a dork. He won one world championship, and that was in the Olympic Games. It’s so aggravating to hear a title be called a “world champion” when it’s only done in America. It’s not a global event where the whole world can participate. You didn’t win a world title. You won a national title.

Bleacher Report  then caught up with Sonnen where he made several accusation against the recent NBA Champ.  Sonnen claimed that at a UFC even that James snubbed fans and would only give autographs to ladies who were, for lack of a better term, well endowed.  He then went on to say that James hit on his fiance at the event, and claimed a friend saw James act like a jerk to a wheelchair-bound child.

Sonnen seemed very serious about the claims he made against James before entering back into his character as the UFC’s biggest trash talker.

His hair went North, his talents went South, and his mother went West.

-Sonnen on James

Sonnen is known for often talking a big game when it comes to his UFC fights in order to help hype them up, which is one of the main reasons he is still employed with the organization.  However, he is not known for calling out other athletes.  James will likely not respond to the accusations as he has a great PR team who will advise him not to do so, but it does leave one wondering if what Sonnen said was true.

When Sonnen asked whether or not he would challenge James to an MMA fight, he ended the interview with this:

No challenge. It’s happening. Next time I see him he will shake that little boy’s hand (the child in a wheelchair), even if I have to break his arm off and take it to the boy.

The opening odds for this match up have yet to be released…
