Chiefs wideout Tyreek Hill will not be suspended for off-the-field incident
In the last few months, the NFL has looked thoroughly into the situation involving Kansas City Chiefs star wide receiver Tyreek Hill possibly assaulting his son.
This matter has had several audio files become public that have painted Hill into a tough spot with possible legal problems and the NFL coming down with punishment. With all of that in mind, the league announced on Friday that there will be no suspension levied down onto Hill as there was no viable evidence that he committed that action, according to ESPN.
“Based on the evidence presently available, the NFL cannot conclude that Mr. Hill violated the Personal Conduct Policy,” the NFL said in a statement Friday. “Accordingly, he may attend Kansas City’s training camp and participate in all club activities. He has been and will continue to be subject to conditions set forth by the District Court, Commissioner [Roger] Goodell, and the Chiefs, which include clinical evaluation and therapeutic intervention.”
Although the league has voiced that there is no punishment, the case is still being left open just in case further evidence is made available. This is a situation where there are signs that point to Hill possibly conducting this heinous crime on his young son with the recordings of the conversations between himself and his then-fiancee.
There may not be any charges filed or any evidence that clearly shows that he did these actions, but it puts the spotlight further on Hill to stay in line off the field moving forward. His past does suggest this is something to keep an eye on as he pleaded guilty to domestic assault and battery by strangulation on the mother of his child back in 2014 when she was pregnant.
For the time being, Hill is in the clear to rejoin the team and get back to focusing on his football career and prepare for the 2019 season.
