Cleveland and Kansas City Awarded the NFL Draft

The cities of Cleveland and Kansas will both play host to the NFL Draft in the next four years.

Following a Wednesday meeting in Florida, the 2021 and 2023 NFL draft locations have been confirmed. Cleveland will host the 2021 NFL Draft and Kansas City will host it in 2023.

The 2020 Draft will be held in Las Vegas to coincide with the Oakland Raiders relocation to Nevada. However, the NFL still has yet to decide where to host the 2022 Draft.

According to reports, there are around 20 cities who are vying to host the event that year.

In 2021, the Cleveland Browns will be celebrating their 75th anniversary. Cleveland will host draft events around FirstEnergy Stadium. As well as that, events will happen at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the shore of Lake Erie.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says that the event in Cleveland will be a memorable experience.

“Cleveland has a passionate fan base and the city offers distinctive iconic locations and attractions that will bring the NFL Draft experience to fans in unique and exciting ways,” Goodell said.

“We look forward to collaborating with the Cleveland Browns, the City of Cleveland, Greater Cleveland Sports Commission and Destination Cleveland to celebrate the achievements of the next generation of players and create a memorable fan experience.”

The traditional location for the draft is New York. The NFL has held the draft in five different cities since it was last in New York.
