Derrick Henry A Titan For Chiefs To Overcome In Championship Game
Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry is in formidable form heading into the AFC Championship Game against the Chiefs.Â
In the Divisional Round win over the Baltimore Ravens, Derrick Henry made NFL Playoff history. He carried the ball 30 times for a total of 195 yards. This makes him the first player in NFL history to rush for over 180 yards twice in the same postseason.Â
Derrick Henry says the increased postseason workload is the reason he’s playing with such dynamism. Rather than the additional games tiring him – he says it helps him find his flow.

“I think I get in a rhythm the more carries I get,” Henry said.
“I get a better feel for the game as the game goes on.”
The Titans will need Henry to be at his best if they are to beat the Kansas City Chiefs and reach the Super Bowl. The Kansas defense is only allowing 128.2 yards per game currently, so expect a tight matchup.Â
When the two teams met in Week 10, it was Tennessee who prevailed, 35 – 32.
“It came down to the wire,” Henry said.
“It was a great game, a great battle. They are a great team and they have great players.
“(On defense) I think they have a good blitz package, obviously, they have pass rushers. I think they are stout on the D-line, their linebackers are physical. On the back end, they have experience — they are a great all-around group.”

In that game, Henry finished with 188 yards and two touchdowns. He also tied for a season-high rushing yards inside the tackles, with 73. With Kansas defensive lineman Chris Jones out of the game, Henry could repeat those heroics.
