Dolphins close the deal with Jay Cutler
Might Jay Cutler be the Miami Dolphins quarterback for more than just one season? According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, if a few key chips fall the right way it’s “certainly possible.â€
“FOX has a three-man booth for him,â€Â Rapoport noted. “They’re keeping it warm. It’s going to go on with Charles Davis now, and Kevin Burkhardt. Presumably, this is just a one-year thing for Jay Cutler. But of course, if he’s having success, if they’re going well, if they can make sure that this is a long-term deal rather than a short-term deal, it’s certainly possible that it can be more than just one year.â€
Rapoport also noted that Carson Palmer was actually retired in 2011 before getting dealt from the Cincinnati Bengals to the Oakland Raiders, and that he’s still playing.
