Eli Manning thinks Giants are still a ‘good team’ after 0-4 start
It has been a rough start to the 2017 NFL season for the New York Giants, to say least. Eli Manning and company have yet to win a game after four weeks, and it appears the storied franchise is headed toward a disappointing season.
Although the Giants are winless after four games, Manning still believes in his team, via James Kratch of NJ.com.
“I still think we’re a good team,” Giants quarterback Eli Manning said Monday during his weekly audience with WFAN’s Mike Francesa.
“We’re playing pretty good football, but we’re not playing great football,” Manning said. “There’s not many mistakes being made. Guys are doing the right things. We’ve just got to do it better.”
The NFC East is arguably the best division in the league this season. The Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, and Washington Redskins have all had solid starts with no clear favorite to come out on top in the division.
Philadelphia is currently atop the division standings with a 3-1 record followed by Dallas and Washington who both sit at 2-2. The division title is up for grabs, but unless the Giants have a drastic turnaround, New York won’t have a chance to compete with the playoffs potentially being a long shot for Manning and company.
In Week 5, the Giants will go head-to-head against the L.A. Chargers at MetLife Stadium. The Chargers are also winless as their relocation to Los Angeles hasn’t gotten off to a good start.
Although the Giants may come away with their first win in Week 5 against the lowly Chargers, the following week won’t get any easier as they’re set to face the Denver Broncos in the Mile High City.
