Emmanuel Sanders Has Been Waiting For a Team Like the Saints

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders hasn’t been this excited to play football since he played with Peyton Manning.

With Manning targeting him for the Broncos, Emmanuel Sanders enjoyed three consecutive 1,000 yard seasons. It’s this sort of ‘pass-happy’ offense that Sanders (33) believes allows him to showcase his talent.

The NFL veteran of 11 years signed a two year deal with the Saints in free agency. In New Orleans, he’ll link up with future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees and All-Pro WR Michael Thomas.

Emmanuel Sanders also said that he expects to hit it off with fellow lover of the game, Drew Brees.

“I’m excited to be there in a pass-happy offense,” Sanders said.

“That means everything. These are the types of offenses where you really can showcase your talent. I’ve waited almost four years, ever since 2014 with Peyton (Manning), to be back in a pass-happy offense.”

It’s an offense that allowed Michael Thomas to lead the NFL with 149 catches and 1,725 yards. Sanders is looking forward to playing with him.

“I’m looking forward to getting in that building and showcasing my talents and seeing what Sean Payton does with both of us,” he said.

“I feel like watching Mike, he’s a baller, and I know what I’m capable of, too. So we’re going to see how it all clicks. Hopefully a year from today we’ll be talking about how we came together and did something special as a wide receiver unit like me and Demaryius did.”

Sanders believes that he and his new QB Brees can combine for a postseason run.

“I know Drew loves football and I know I love football. I just feel like that chemistry is going to be there from the jump because we are both down to work our butts off because we both know what we’re trying to accomplish and that’s [winning a] Super Bowl ring.”
