Freshman Watch List

Freshman do not always start in the top schools in the nation.  They are usually eased into a program before becoming becoming a major player.  However, in smaller organizations, freshman can come in and have an extraordinary impact.  Here is a brief list of some college freshmen to keep your eye on when the NCAA basketball season finally start.

Jarrell Martin

Jareel Martin has decided to attend school at his hometown college LSU much to the delight of college basketball fans in Louisiana.  Martin, along with his teammate Johnny O’Bryant III, can rise LSU back into the collage basketball spotlight.

Martin, at 6’7” and 210 pounds, has all the physical tools and the skill set.  He is an excellent shooter from the post and will be a powerful rebounder for LSU.

Andrew Wiggins

When Andrew Wiggins decided to go to Kansas it again made this traditionally talented team an immediate contender again when many were beginning to doubt if the school would continue it’s Big 12 run.

Wiggins has been compared to Kevin Durrant and is predicted to be the No.1 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, but first he will make a college run with Kansas.  Wiggins is a player who can make big plays all over the court and is going to be an impact player for Kansas.

Karviar Shepherd

TCU will be looking to turn around its basketball program that has been ailing for years.  They have only made four NCAA Tournament appearances in the last 50 years.  However, Shepherd could very well change all that.

The 6’10”, 225-pound center dominates the paint with fierce rebounds and forceful blocks.  Not only is Shepherd a freshmen to watch, but it also makes TCU a team to keep your eye on this season.
