The NBA’s Western Conference is as competitive as we’ve seen this season with talented teams from top to bottom. The defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs may have dominated the competition over the past few years, but times are changing with teams filled with young talent starting to emerge as legitimate forces to be reckoned with.

One team that burst on the scene during the 2014-15 regular season is the Golden State Warriors. Stephen Curry and company played well last season and took the Los Angeles Clippers to seven games in the playoffs, but fell short of advancing to the second round.

This season the Warriors have finally turned the corner and have quickly become the best team in the West and quite possibly the best team in the league. Curry, current favorite to win NBA MVP, has led this team to a league-best 64-15 record and have locked up the top seed in the conference as a result.

Currently, the Warriors are favored to come out on top in the West with 1/1 odds, according to Sportsbook.ag. Although Golden State will head into the postseason as the favorites to reach the 2015 NBA Finals, the Spurs aren’t far behind at 2/1 followed by the Houston Rockets (19/2) and Clippers (10/1).

Considering San Antonio’s coaching, experience and veteran leadership, it’s no surprise the Spurs are in the mix once again this season to reach the NBA Finals. The recent injury problems for the Rockets make their chances of competing difficult while the Clippers have some serious issues in terms of bench play.

It’ll be interesting to see how things ultimately pan out in the West, but there’s no question the Warriors will be tough to beat after the dominant regular-season performance they’ve had under first-year head coach Steve Kerr.

Golden State is also favored to win it all with the regular season coming to an end. The Warriors have 17/10 odds to win the NBA title with the Cleveland Cavaliers sporting 2/1 odds, according to Sportsbook.ag.
