Heat Need To Win
The Miami Heat want to avoid losing tonight so they do not wind up playing for their playoff lives. In order to avoid that situation the Heat are going to have to make some changes.
In Game 3, Miami’s defense did not put up much of a fight against the San Antonio Spurs, who won the game by 19 points (11-92). The Spurs picked up the decisive win by making 19 of it first 21 shots, an NBA finals record. They shot for 75.8 percent in the first half and the Heat had no answers.
It is no time to panic for the Heat though. It was just one year ago that the Heat fell to down to the Spurs 2-1. Game 3 was also a blowout loss for Miami. Â Also, it is very unlikely that the Spurs will be shooting like that again any time soon.
The Heat, however will still need to work on fixing several issues before tonight’s game. It is not only their defense, they also need to get the ball in the hand of Chris Bosh, who only got four shot attempts, yet scored 18 points in the previous two games.
The Heat also cannot completely rely on LeBron James either, who turned over the ball seven times in the last game.
If the Spurs manage to pull off the victory tonight, things will be pretty dismal for the Heat. No team has ever overcame a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals to win the championship. Â A win would give the Spurs two chances to win the series at home.
Miami are the favorites to win this game. They are the -5 point favorites according to the spread. The moneyline to bet on the Heat is set at -240. To bet on the Spurs is +200. The game starts at 9 p.m. ET. You can watch it on ABC.
