Indianapolis Looks to Clinch AFC South Against Houston
The NFL enters Week 15 with a number of division rematches on the schedule. One such rematch takes place in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium when the Indianapolis Colts host AFC South rivals the Houston Texans.
Indianapolis on the season is 9-4 SU and ATS. The Colts at home are 5-2. Houston is 7-6 SU and 8-5 ATS this season. The Texans are 4-3 on the road.
The current line by odds makers has the Colts favored by 7 points with the total points resting on 49 for the over/under.
Indianapolis looks to continue its dominance over Houston as well as clinch the division title on Sunday. In 12 previous games, the Colts are undefeated at home against the Texans.
Houston desperately needs to win to maintain their slim playoff hopes. The Texans are one of five AFC teams at 7-6 that is currently on the outside looking in for a berth in the postseason.
Indianapolis has not protected the ball well the last three games losing 7 of 13 fumbles and throwing 3 picks.
Houston could play without its best offensive weapon Andre Johnson. The veteran wide receiver suffered a concussion last week against Jacksonville and is still suffering symptoms.
Johnson needs just 4 receptions to become just the tenth player in the history of the NFL to catch 1,000 passes.
On defense, Houston’s J.J. Watt is third in the league in sacks with 14.5 and has three touchdown receptions.
Last time out against Indy in Houston, this past October, Watt sacked Colts quarterback Andrew Luck twice and ran a fumble recovery back for a touchdown.
Arian Foster the starting running back for Houston had 127 yards rushing last week versus Jacksonville to go over the 1,000-yard mark for the season.
Luck has a record of 4-1 and 12 touchdowns in 5 career games versus Houston.
Luck is leading the NFL this season with 4,305 passing yards and tied for first with 36 touchdown passes.
T.Y. Hilton one of Luck’s favorite targets has 1,295 yards receiving which is third in the league.
Defensively for the Colts, Vontae Davis hopes to return from a concussion injury. Mike Adams at strong safety is tied for second in the league with five pickoffs.
Indianapolis is 21-4 over the past 25 games with Houston and has won four straight against the Texans.
Trent Richardson a running back for the Colts has only 84 yards in his past four games.
Jadeveon Clowney the rookie outside linebacker for Houston is on injured reserve after surgery for a micro-fracture in his knee.
Pick: I like Indianapolis and the OVER. The Colts offense should dominate the secondary of the Texans. However, the running game for Houston against Indy will keep the game close.
