Kareem Hunt Expected To Leave Cleveland Browns Today

Kareem Hunt presented for his MNF postgame interview in a Joker costume, but there was nothing jovial about its contents.

Instead, the Cleveland Browns running back seemed apathetic and resigned to a trade, although he doesn’t know where to.

The Kareem Hunt narrative has been bubbling away since training camp when his trade request was denied.

The Browns have moved away from the effective tandem of Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb. As Cleveland flounders for an offensive identity this season, Hunt has faded into the background.

His indifferent interview was jarring, because his performance in the win over Cincinnati was anything but. He carried the ball 11 times for 42 yards and caught the ball four times for 30 yards. It was his second-highest number of scrimmage yards in a game this season.

Far from fighting his way back into the team, all sides seem to have accepted that Hunt will depart Cleveland before Tuesday’s 4pm trade deadline.

“I mean, I’m down for whatever, man,” Hunt said.

“I’m a football player and this is a business. So I’m ready to do whatever they decide with me. That’s either go somewhere else or here, anything it don’t matter. I love the game of football.

“I mean, you know I’m from the city of Cleveland so (chuckles) I guess I’m happy we won,” Hunt said. “So yes, that’s the right way to go out.”

“I have no idea, I have no idea. I don’t talk to them about that,” Hunt said. “Like I said, I just come in and work man. If something happens, I guess it happens. I’m always going to show up to work, they know that.”

“As you can imagine, I don’t get into those things,” head coach Stefanski said. “He fights like crazy. He’s a great part of this team. These guys just, whatever’s in front of them, they’re fighting like crazy.”
