Karl-Anthony Towns Against NBA All-Star Game
Karl-Anthony Towns agrees with LeBron James and others that the NBA should not host the All-Star game this year.
The Minnesota Timberwolves center made his comeback on Wednesday after missing 13 games due to contracting Covid-19.
As well as that, his mother and six other family members have died as a result of the virus. Karl-Anthony Towns admitted to not being fully prepared mentally to play again.
A high risk case, he described his experience with Covid-19 as ‘scary’.

“I personally don’t believe there should be an All-Star Game, but what the hell do I know?” Towns asked ironically. “S—, I obviously haven’t dealt with COVID, probably a guy who has some insight into that. What should I know about COVID, right?”
The 25 year old finished with 18 points and ten rebounds in a 119 – 112 defeat to the Los Angeles Clippers. He revealed postgame that there were times that his vitals didn’t look good while he was sick.
“I am a high-risk case,” Towns said.
“COVID did not treat me well whatsoever. A lot of scary nights. One of the things that I told my sister when I got COVID was that, ‘Hey, I got it, and I don’t got a good version of it. I got a lot of COVID in me, but I am going to fight and beat it.
“You hear those stories where people get COVID,” Towns continued.Â
“And they’re like, oh for four days, five days, I didn’t feel well and then I turned the corner magically one day and I was feeling great. That did not happen with me.”

His comments come at a time when NBA teams are beginning to welcome fans back into stadiums. Towns thinks that the idea is too much too soon.
“COVID is a real thing. It ain’t never going away. It hasn’t diminished at all. It has just gotten smarter.”
