Knicks @ Cavaliers

There is a lack of big marquee games tonight.  That however, doe not mean you will be pressed to find some drama in the NBA tonight.

Both the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Knicks have had poor seasons.  However, the Eastern Conference in general is not that good this year.  Thus both these teams will have a shot at getting into the playoffs.

The Knicks have a pretty easy schedule coming up, while the Cavs face a long road to the post season with a handful of playoff contenders on their schedule in the upcoming games.

New York has not had many win streaks this season, but it will be looking for a three-game one as it head to Cleveland.  It will only be the Knicks third three-game win streak this season.

The Knicks also sit in 11th place behind the Cavs.  Two other teams are also chasing the Eastern Conferences final playoff spot.  They are the Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks.  A win for either the Cavs or the Knicks tonight will not only bring them one step closer to a plyoff spot, will also put their competition a bit more behind.

New York is coming off a 108-81 win over Utah on Friday.  Carmelo Anthony scored 28 points in the game, 18 of which came in the first quarter, where the Knicks already had the game well in hand.

The Knicks are clearly stepping up their game.  In their last two outings they have only turned the ball over 19 times. Before that they were averaging 15 turnovers a game.

The Cavs will be looking to end a three-game losing streak tonight.  They lost to Charlotte on last night and will be looking to recover.  Kyrie Irving had an off night as he missed all of his three-point attempts.  He shot from behind the arc seven times.

The Cavs have a long road ahead of games that many do not consider winnable for the team.  After this game they have to face Phoenix, Golden State, the LA Clippers, Miami, Oklahoma City and Houston.  All of those team are currently in playoff positions and are well above the .500 mark.

The Knicks are the slight favorites to win this game with a -1 point spread.  The game starts at 7:30 p.m. ET and you can watch it on NBA TV.
