Lakers Lose Jeremy Lin, Dwight Buycks For The Rest Of The Season
The injuries keep coming for the Los Angeles Lakers with the storied franchise suffering major blows to their backcourt with only two games left in the 2014-15 NBA season. Before taking on the visiting Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night at the Staples Center, head coach Byron Scott let it be known veteran point guard Jeremy Lin will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.
Making matters worse for the Lakers, newcomer Dwight Buycks suffered a fracture in his right hand, according to the Lakers Twitter account:
Dwight Buycks has a fractured right third metacarpal. He is out for the season.

Buycks signed a 10-day contract with the Lakers back on April 3 after the team lost Wayne Ellington to a season-ending surgery. Losing Ellington was a major blow for Los Angeles, but Buycks, as well as the newly acquired Jabari Brown, helped shoulder the load in the backcourt.
Unfortunately, with Buycks and Lin done for the season, the Lakers were left with two healthy guards on the roster. Only Brown and Jordan Clarkson were available for the final two games of the season until the team signed Vander Blue of the Los Angeles D-Fenders on Monday.
On Monday night, the Lakers will face the division rival Sacramento Kings in the second-to-last game of the season. Los Angeles will then host the Kings in the final game of the season at the Staples Center on Wednesday.
