Lamar Jackson ‘Really Wants To Win’ Say Ravens Teammates

The Baltimore Ravens fell 24-17 to the Cincinnati Bengals in the Wild Card round in the absence of Lamar Jackson.

There’s no question the multi-talented quarterback makes the Ravens who they are. Since becoming a starter in 2017, Lamar Jackson has led Baltimore to four postseasons in five years.

Lamar Jackson has a 45-16 record as a starter. He has amassed 12,209 passing yards, 101 touchdowns, 38 interceptions and a 96.7 passer rating. As well as that, he has 4,437 rushing yards and 24 more scores.

The Ravens were averaging 25 points per game on a 7.4 record before Jackson got injured. Without him, they averaged just 12.5 points per game and finished 3-4.

Jackson is clearly vital however, he’s ended his second straight season sidelined by injury and questions linger around his contract.

As far as his teammates are concerned, though, there is no question he should come back.

“You can’t let a guy like him go,” defensive end Calais Campbell said.

“There’s always some new, exciting kid that has potential to go out there and be great. But this is a business of ‘for sures’ and ‘knowns,’ and you know who Lamar Jackson is. I think it’s in the best interest of the Ravens organization to give him a long-term contract and make him ‘the guy.'”

“In my mind, I know he’s going to be here,” left tackle Ronnie Stanley said. “He’s a competitor. He wants to win. This is his team, and this is his offense. The money is not the most important thing with Lamar. He really wants to win, contrary to popular belief.”
